Today it’s been confirmed that Parks and Recreation and Zero Dark Thirty star Chris Pratt will star in the upcoming Marvel Studios film Guardians of the Galaxy. This is the first bit of casting news to some from the film which is being written and directed by James Gunn.
Pratt will play Peter Quill, AKA Star-Lord, and judging from the oddball assortment of characters (including a talking raccoon) that comprise the team, this will be much more comedic than the previous Marvel entries. Shooting begins later this year with a release date set for August 1, 2014.
