Entertainment Weekly broke the news that the rumors and speculation are indeed true that Darth Vader will be making an appearance in the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which takes place before the events of A New Hope, and focuses on the team of rebels that steal the death star plans from the empire. Vader will not be the main villain in the film, that distinction goes to Ben Mendelsohn, but it’s been said that he will have a sizable action scene.
Rogue One is directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla, Monsters) and also stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Alan Tudyk (who will voice the droid on the cover below), Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, and Forest Whitaker.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will open in theaters December 16th.
