Nicolas Pesce’s Horror Film THE EYES OF MY MOTHER Gets a Disturbing Trailer

Magnolia has released a new trailer for The Eyes of My Mother, a black and white psychological horror film from director Nicolas Pesce in which a woman who encounters a traumatizing experience as a child develops some dark urges in her adulthood.

The Eyes of My Mother premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival to positive reviews and judging from the trailer, it looks pretty terrifying so I’m completely on board for this one. Magnet Releasing will be releasing the film in theaters and on VOD platforms December 2nd.

In their secluded farmhouse, a mother, formerly a surgeon in Portugal, teaches her daughter, Francisca, to understand anatomy and be unfazed by death. One afternoon, a mysterious visitor horrifyingly shatters the idyll of Francisca’s family life, deeply traumatizing the young girl, but also awakening some unique curiosities. Though she clings to her increasingly reticent father, Francisca’s loneliness and scarred nature converge years later when her longing to connect with the world around her takes on a distinctly dark form.
