Tribeca 2016: MOTHER (EMA) Trailer

As this year’s New York’s Tribeca Film Festival nears, the time has come to start finalizing my schedule and one that is definitely on the list is Kadri Kõusaar‘s Estonian film Mother. The trailer for the film has been released, which is billed as a darkly comedic mystery about a woman in a small town trying to decipher who shot her son. The press notes compare the film to Fargo, and if the tone matches that of this trailer, I can see why.

The 2016 Tribeca Film Festival will be taking place April 13 – 24, for ticketing and showtimes be sure to check out the official site here.

Here’s the synopsis for Mother:

This darkly comic, crime mystery set in small-town Estonia centers on Elsa, the full time caretaker of her comatose son, Lauri, and the locals, who are abuzz with rumors about who shot Lauri and why. But in this tight-knit town, where everyone seems to know everyone and everything except for what’s right under their nose, the world’s clumsiest crime may go unsolved.
