Anna Faris and Eugenio Derbez Will Star in OVERBOARD Remake

The 1987 comedy Overboard starring Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn is getting a remake. The updated version will star Anna Faris and Eugenio Derbez in the lead roles. In the original, Hawn was an heiress who fell overboard, got amnesia, and was convinced by Russell’s working-class guy that they were married.

The update will gender-swap the roles. Derbez will play a wealthy playboy who is misled by Faris’ single mom. Rob Greenberg and Bob Fisher will write and direct, with production scheduled to begin in May.
