Benicio Del Toro Joins Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’

Deadline announced today that Benicio Del Toro has been cast in James Gunn‘s ever-growing Guardians of the Galaxy as a yet unknown character.  Deadline reports that Del Toro will be playing a major role in the film and will most likely be in multiple Marvel films in the future.

Speculation has already begun floating around the net, with some thinking he’ll be playing Thanos, who has yet to have an actor attached.  Guardians also stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, David Bautista, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Karen Gillan, and is set for theaters August 1st, 2014.
