Magnolia Pictures has released the trailer and poster for Crystal Moselle‘s (The Wolfpack) Skate Kitchen, starring Rachelle Vinberg, Jaden Smith, Dede Lovelace, Nina Moran, Kabrina Adams, Ajani Russell, Jules Lorenzo, Brenn Lorenzo, Hisham Tawfiq, and Elizabeth Rodriguez. The film revolves around a teenager who falls in with an all-girl skate crew in New York called Skate Kitchen. As a huge fan of The Wolfpack, I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Moselle’s narrative debut.
Skate Kitchen premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and opens in theaters August 10th.
In the first narrative feature from The Wolfpack director Crystal Moselle, Camille, an introverted teenage skateboarder (newcomer Rachelle Vinberg) from Long Island, meets and befriends an all-girl, New York City-based skateboarding crew called Skate Kitchen. She falls in with the in-crowd, has a falling-out with her mother, and falls for a mysterious skateboarder guy (Jaden Smith), but a relationship with him proves to be trickier to navigate than a kickflip.
