David Cronenberg Returns to Body Horror in THE ACID TEST Starring Seth Rogen

It appears that body horror master David Cronenberg (Videodrome, The Fly) will be returning to the genre in a film called The Acid Test, which, oddly enough will star Seth Rogen as a bumbling everyman who undergoes a terrifying transformation after ingesting some tainted LSD.  There’s not much more known about the project at this time, but it’s said to be “a healthy blend of horror and comedy with a Cronenberg twist.”

This comes as good news considering the director’s last batch of films have deviated from his previous works, and while they weren’t all bad per se, it’s nice to see him returning to the genre that he’s most known for.

There’s no word on when shooting will begin, but I would guess we can plan on a 2016 release.  Cronenberg’s next film, Maps to the Stars, is finished and will hopefully be popping up at some festivals sometime this year.
