Gareth Edwards Set to Direct STAR WARS Spinoff

It was just revealed that Godzilla director Gareth Edwards has been hired by Disney to direct the first of three Star Wars spinoff movies that will accompany the new trilogy.  The Hollywood Reporter broke the news earlier this afternoon, with Starwars.com later confirming.

Gary Whitta will be developing the script, and although we don’t know any details about the plot, many are speculating it will revolve around everyone’s favorite galactic bounty hunter Boba Fett.

The film will be due out December 16, 2016.
