With Gareth Evans‘ The Raid 2 in full production, a new still has been released in order to let all of us know that the second one promises to be just as violent and gory as the first. The film will pick up directly after the events of the first movie and will follow Rama (Iko Uwais) as he goes undercover to expose both a ruthless crime syndicate and the corruption in his own police force.
The film is currently in the midst of a 100 day shoot in Indonesia and is set to hit theaters there September 8th, however there’s no US release date as of yet. Hit the jump for the still and full synopsis.
Picking up right where the first film ends, The Raid 2 follows Rama (Uwais) as he goes undercover and infiltrates the ranks of a ruthless Jakarta crime syndicate in order to protect his family and uncover the corruption in his own police force.
