James Wan’s ‘The Conjuring’ Trailer

Here’s the debut trailer for the new James Wan film The Conjuring, starring Lili Taylor, Ron Livingston, Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson. Wan previously directed the extremely successful Saw, which spawned 6 sequels, and Insidious, which, despite the hatred of Film Pulse’s own Kevin Rakestraw, was very well received critically and financially.

Judging from the trailer, it looks like he might have another hit on his hands and after test screenings rated through the roof, Warner Bros. decided to push the film into one of the coveted Summer release slots.  That means that we’ll be getting two James Wan films this summer, with The Conjuring set for July 19th and Insidious Chapter 2 set for August 30th.

Before there was Amityville, there was Harrisville. Based on a true story, “The Conjuring” tells the horrifying tale of how world-renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren were called upon to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives.
