Matthew Vaughn, the first film’s director, is overseeing the production, but is not able to take the director’s chair due to production on the next X-Men film titled X-Men: Days of Future Past. Having a new director, while not a nail in the coffin for this film, could be problematic considering Wadlow’s previous films include Never Back Down and Cry Wolf, both not so good.
I sincerely hope this turns out good, as I’m a big fan of the original film, as well as the Mark Millar/John Romita Jr comic that it’s based on. Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall is set for a June 28, 2013 release.
