In an odd bit of news breaking late today, Warner Bros. has announced the release date for the
Wachowski‘s upcoming science fiction film
Jupiter Ascending will now be released
February 6, 2015. The film was originally set to come out this summer on
July 18th, which is a prime spot for summer blockbusters, so something major must have happened to cause this bump.
Warner Bros. has not officially given a reason behind the delay so cue the rampant internet speculation. My guess is that Channing Tatum‘s ears weren’t pointy enough and had to be digitally altered frame by frame. Hopefully, the reason is due to more polishing on the effects and not a G.I. Joe: Retaliation situation.
