This week’s Kickstart Sunday pick comes to us from writer-director Henry Jinings and his upcoming short film Welcome to Bushwick. The film revolves around a young man who locks himself in his date’s bathroom after he begins to fear there may be something terribly wrong with her. I’m totally loving the VHS look of this one and can’t wait to see more.

This IndieGoGo campaign is looking to raise $13,000 with a month left, so be sure to click here and send a donation their way!

Evan is scared.

It’s been awhile since he’s been on a date, and it’s been even longer since a date invited him back to her house. He doesn’t know what to do or how to act or how to play it cool. But that isn’t what’s scaring him. At least, that isn’t what’s scaring him now. Because there’s something wrong with his date, and he just locked himself in her bathroom.

Welcome to Bushwick is a dark comedy inspired by the fear of encountering the uncanny, unfamiliar and unknown, taking inspiration from what stirs up those feelings inside all of us.
