Kal Penn has now been announced as the host for a portion of the DNC’s gavel to gavel livestream, which is set to air online this Thursday at 8 PM ET. Penn is no stranger to politics, having previously worked for the Obama administration on the arts policy committee before landing a spot in the Whitehouse.
The special is titled
Live From Charlotte, and will feature interviews with some of Obama’s celebrity supporters including
Marc Anthony,
Elizabeth Banks,
Aisha Tyler,
Olivia Wilde,
Fran Drescher,
Zach Braff,
Alexis Bledel.
While I don’t mean to discredit the influence of the above-mentioned people, it seems like maybe they could have found some bigger celebrities than this to feature on the show. I mean, the RNC gets a legend like Clint Eastwood, so the DNC gets Fran Drescher?
