Director Martin Scorsese was having a bit of trouble with Paramount over his latest film, The Wolf of Wall Street, over the fact that is was clocking in at 180 minutes and was rated NC-17.  The long runtime and harsh rating is certainly not ideal for a studio looking to make some big returns over the holiday season, however THR reports that Scorsese trimmed the film down to 165 minutes and knocked it back to an R rating.

This means the film will be coming out December 25, and be in a perfect spot for awards potential.  Hopefully, a director’s cut will be out when it hits Blu-ray, because I cannot wait to see this craziness.  Check back later today for a new trailer.
