In two bits of directing news, it was announced today that the upcoming
Deadpool sequel has found a new director after
Tim Miller left the production citing creative differences with star
Ryan Reynolds.
David Leitch, who previously co-directed the hit Keanu Reeves‘ action flick John Wick will now take Miller’s place with Deadpool 2.
The upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot had some movement today as well, with Variety revealing that Simon McQuoid has been tapped to direct the James Wan-produced video game adaptation. This will be McQuoid’s film debut, having previously worked as a commercial director.
