It was announced today that director Christopher Nolan has brought on cinematographer Hoyte Van Hoytema to shoot his upcoming science fiction epic Interstellar.  This marks the first time Nolan has used someone other than Wally Pfister as his DP since his first film, Following.

Van Hoytema seems to be a good choice for the director, with previous credits including Let the Right One In, The Fighter, and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, as well as working on the new Spike Jonz film Her, which is set to come out this year. Hit the jump for more.

There’s no official synopsis on the film as of yet, but it was previously announced that Matthew McConaughey will act as the male lead, with Anne Hathaway as the female lead.

Nolan has also stated that a large portion of the flick will be shot on large format cameras, so we can surely expect a beautiful and vivid visual experience at the IMAX.

It’s also set for production this summer, so we should expect more information soon.  Interstellar is slated to hit theaters November 7th, 2014.
