THR reported today that 20th Century Fox has reached a deal with Hasbro on a big screen adaptation of the popular collectible card game
Magic: The Gathering.
Simon Kinberg has been brought on to produce the film, which Fox will be looking to turn into their next tent-pole franchise.
The game celebrated its 20th anniversary last year, and still commands a large fan base, especially after various video game incarnations were introduced. There’s no word yet on who will be tapped to write or direct, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted as we find out more.
