‘Revenge for Jolly!’ Trailer

Every year there’s at least a few of these post-Tarantino era films that crop up, promising wacky characters, lots of violence, and zany antics.  Unfortunately it’s rare that any of them are worth more than the bargain bin they quickly get relegated to, and I’m afraid that will be the case here with Revenge for Jolly!.

Though the cast is impressive, with performances from Brian Pestos, Oscar Isaac,  Elijah Wood, Gillian Jacob, Kristen Wiig, Bobby Moynihan, Adam Brody, Ryan Phillippe, Garret Dillahunt and Kevin Corrigan, the unimpressive trailer and straight-to-DVD release has me very skeptical.  

The film premiered at Tribeca last year to mostly abysmal reviews as well, however you can check it out for yourself and be the judge when it hits DVD and Blu Ray May 7th.

Director Chadd Harbold’s first feature is a bloody tale of revenge as well as a dark comedy that centers on a low-level bad guy who hunts down the people responsible for murdering his dog, Jolly. The supporting cast includes Kristen Wiig, Kevin Corrigan, and Elijah Wood.
