Rian Johnson Set to Write and Direct STAR WARS EPISODE VIII

In some giant news breaking today, Deadline reports that Looper director Rian Johnson will be the writer and director of Star Wars Episode VIII.  He will also be working on a treatment for Episode IX, however it hasn’t been confirmed that he will be directing that one.

This is some great news for fans, as Johnson will be more than capable of bringing some new and interesting content into the Star Wars universe. I loved Looper and Brick is one of my all-time favorites, so I’m certainly excited.
