Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy in 'The Heat' Trailer 1

Here’s the first trailer for the Paul Feig directed film The Heat starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy. Feig previously directed McCarthy in Bridesmaids, and it looks like she’s going to have another huge year, also appearing in This is 40, The Identity Thief, The Hangover Part III, and Tammy.

The Heat looks like a somewhat typical buddy cop flick involving Bullock as an unlikable FBI agent who gets paired up with McCarthy, a butchy detective.  The trailer doesn’t offer up too many laughs, but I’m still hopeful that where Bridesmaids was The Hangover with women, maybe this will be 21 Jump Street with women.  Check out The Heat in theaters April 5th, trailer and synopsis after the break.

Uptight and straight-laced, FBI Special Agent Sarah Ashburn (Sandra Bullock) is a methodical investigator with a reputation for excellence–and hyper-arrogance. Shannon Mullins (Melissa McCarthy), one of Boston P.D.’s “finest,” is foul-mouthed and has a very short fuse, and uses her gut instinct and street smarts to catch the most elusive criminals. Neither has ever had a partner, or a friend for that matter. When these two wildly incompatible law officers join forces to bring down a ruthless drug lord, they become the last thing anyone expected: buddies. From Paul Feig, the director of “Bridesmaids.”
