Shane Black to Direct PREDATOR Reboot

THR broke the news today that 20th Century Fox is moving forward with its latest Predator reboot, and Shane Black will be directing.  Black previously directed Iron Man 3, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, and actually played Hawkins in the original Predator from 1987.

He will also be penning a treatment for the film before handing it over to Fred Dekker (The Monster Squad), who will complete the script.

The previous Predator reboot from 2010 didn’t make much of a splash despite being overseen by Robert Rodriguez and receiving a decent reception from critics, so hopefully this entry breathes new life into a franchise I desperately want to do well.

If anyone can do it though, I feel like Shane Black is the guy to bring something new to the table and produce the quality piece of science fiction horror that Predator deserves

Yeah, The Brody version of Predator was actually pretty darn good for what it was. And Shane Black took boring Iron Man and made it one of the best movies of the year. Great dialogue and character development/interaction. I look forward to seeing what he can do with Predator!
