The highly anticipated (at least by me)
Steven Spielberg-directed Ready Player One has been given a
December 15, 2017 release date from Warner Bros. The film, an adaptation of the novel by
Ernest Cline, takes place in a future where people spend most of their days in a virtual world called OASIS, an environment filled with Easter Eggs and clues that could lead one lucky user to a vast inheritance.
Zak Penn (X-Men: Last Stand and more importantly PCU) is penning the script, which still hasn’t been revealed what, if any, licensed properties will be appearing, as the novel is chock full of video game references.
