Stacy Peralta’s ‘The Bones Brigade’ Trailer

Here’s the trailer for the new skateboarding doc from Stacy Peralta (Dogtown and Z-Boys), titled The Bones Brigade: An Auto-biography. Anyone even remotely interested in skateboarding during my childhood will remember this legendary crew comprised of Tony Hawk, Lance Mountain, Steve Caballero, Mike McGill, Tommy Guerrero, Rodney Mullen, and many more.Peralta’s previous film Dogtown and Z-boys highlighted the beginning of professional skateboarding, which took place in the 60’s, and now we’re jumping ahead to the 80’s when the sport really exploded.

Peralta has announced that he will be self-distributing the film, so there’s currently no release date as of yet, but since this was a hit at Sundance and Hot Docs, I wouldn’t be surprised to see this popping up on VOD in the near future. Moreover, Peralta is also giving away Animal Chin, arguably the best skate video ever made for free on the Bones Brigade website. Here’s what Peralta said regarding the film:

“We are very excited because we’re releasing Bones Brigade: An Autobiography primarily by ourselves, in a new and modern way,” Stacy Peralta said in a statement, the film’s director and mentor of the original Bones Brigade. “The only place to fully experience the film will be through our Bones Brigade web site; where myself, Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero, Lance Mountain, Mike McGill, Rodney Mullen and Tommy Guerrero will interact directly with fans. The trailer premiere, new site and free download is our way of including fans right from the start in the process of releasing the film. I hope they have fun and share it with everyone who loves skateboarding, its history and the Bones Brigade.”
