It was announced today that IFC Midnight picked up the Austrian horror flick The Station, after its premiere at the Toronto Film Festival’s Midnight Madness series.  Directed by Marvin Kren, the film revolves around a mysterious red liquid produced from melting glaciers that causes genetic mutations which turn just about every living thing into ravenous monsters.

Kren previously directed the excellent zombie film Rammbock, so I’m very curious to check this one out.  IFC hasn’t stated when it plans on releasing the film just yet, but I would expect to see it sometime next year.  Hit the jump to check out the trailer and synopsis.

The crew of a remote weather research station in the German Alps find that a retreating glacier is turning the local wildlife into ravenous biological monstrosities, in this timely horror thriller from director Marvin Kren (Rammbock).
