Sean Durkin‘s (Martha Marcy May Marlene) four-part miniseries Southcliffe will be making its North American debut at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, and Tiff posted a new trailer for the show today for our viewing pleasure.  Although its technically a TV show, the quality and talent behind it certainly causes the lines to be blurred between the two.  I has the opportunity to see the first two episodes and I can say you’ll definitely be wanting to see this at the festival.

Southcliffe tells the story of a small town rocked by a mass shooting perpetrated by one of its residents.  The show features such talents as Eddie Marsan, Joe Dempsie, Shirley Henderson, Sean Harris, Kaya Scodelario, and Anatol Yusef among many more.  Hit the jump to check out the trailer and synopsis.

In this timely and ambitious four-part dramatic series, director Sean Durkin (Martha Marcy May Marlene) and celebrated British television writer Tony Grisoni tell the tragic tale of a “sleepy little English market town” turned upside down when one of its little-liked residents turns his guns on his fellow citizens.
