Tom Cruise Confirmed for ‘Mission: Impossible 5’

Though it’s something we all could have guessed, Paramount confirmed today that Tom Cruise has signed on to star in Mission Impossible: 5.  Though there hasn’t been any word on a writer or director, Deadline, who broke the story, reports that Christopher McQuarrie will most likely be penning the script.  McQuarrie most recently wrote the script for Jack Reacher, also starring Cruise.

Skydance Productions will be returning to finance the film, which is probably going to be a safe bet for them considering the last entry grossed nearly $700 million worldwide on a $145 million budget.
