Uma Thurman Cast in Lars Von Trier’s ‘Nymphomaniac’

Uma Thurman has just been announced as the latest addition to Lars Von Trier‘s Nymphomaniac, which promises to be a very sexually explicit thriller. There’s been a lot of buzz surrounding this film, most notably when star Shia LaBeouf hinted at the possibility of unsimulated sex in the film, something that shouldn’t come as a surprise to those familiar with Von Trier’s work.

The film also stars Charlotte Gainsbourg as the central character, and Stellan Skarsgard, Jamie Bell, Connie Nielsen, Christian Slater , and Stacy Martin are also featured.

Much of the plot specifics are unknown, other than it’s about a woman (Gainsbourg) who is found beaten in an alley and nursed back to health by Stellan Skarsgard’s character, who hears her sordid life story. The film will also be told in two parts, and have softcore and hardcore versions of each part.

As for the other players, it’s unknown where they will fit in, but considering Uma Thurman was in the first NC-17 rated movie ever, Henry and June, she should fit right in.  Expect to see Nymphomaniac sometime next year, but don’t hold your breath for any kind of wide theatrical release.
