Watch- “Sorkinisms” an Exercise in Self-Plagarism

Here’s a great video featuring the many recurring lines and themes throughout Aaron Sorkin‘s career. If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, what does it mean when you imitate yourself?  I’m also wondering how long it’s going to take for some of these lines to crop up in his newest show, The Newsroom.

Also, please don’t take this video as a criticism of Sorkin’s work, I didn’t create it, and I’m a big fan of nearly everything he’s done.

  1. I, too, am a fan of Sorkin’s writing (though not a fan of him personally when I attempt to watch him interviewed, talking about his work). I know we’re only one episode into “The Newsroom,” but if the upcoming episodes are as strong as the premiere, then I think HBO has given us another must-see show.
