‘We Steal Secrets: The Story of Wikileaks’ Trailer

Here’s the debut trailer and poster for the new documentary We Steal Secrets: The Story of Wikileaks by director Alex Gibney.  Gibney previously won an Oscar for Taxi to the Dark Side and directed a slew of other great docs including Gonzo, Enron, and Freakanomics.

The film takes a look at the now infamous Wikileaks website and its creator Julian Assange. More than that, the doc also explores the implications of the site on the functions of government in the 21st century.  The film is set to hit theaters May 24th, hit the jump for the full synopsis and trailer.

Detailing the creation of Julian Assange’s controversial website, which facilitated the largest security breach in U.S. history, the film charts the enigmatic Assange’s rise and fall in parallel with that of Pfc. Bradley Manning, the brilliant, troubled young soldier who downloaded hundreds of thousands of documents from classified U.S. military and diplomatic servers.
