Ben Mendelsohn is the primary antagonist in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Variety reports he’s set to play another well-known baddie. The actor is in talks to appear as the Sheriff of Nottingham in the latest Robin Hood reimagining, Robin Hood: Origins. His casting immediately makes this questionable idea better.
Described as a “gritty” (of course) take on the classic story, the film also stars Taron Egerton as the titular hero, Jamie Foxx as Little John, Jamie Dornan as Will Scarlett, and Eve Hewson as Maid Marian.
Otto Bathurst (Peaky Blinders, Black Mirror) is directing Robin Hood: Origins, which is currently slated for release on March 23th, 2018.
