In a recent press release, it was announced that the international version of Michel Gondry‘s upcoming film, Mood Indigo, will be cut by a whopping 36 minutes in order to be “a looser adaptation of the novel.”  Early reviews indicated that the film felt entirely too long in its original form, and viewers that haven’t read the novel its based on will be confused with some of the story elements.

This new version will be re-edited by Tariq Anwar (The King’s Speech, American Beauty).  Unlike the previous announcement of Snowpiercer being cut, this decision seems like it may be a good one for the film.  Click here to check out the trailer for Mood Indigo, there is no US release date just yet.
