The first teaser for street magic movie Sleight has just been released. Though it’s centered on a young magician, the film looks like it may have more in common with Chronicle than Now You See Me. The protagonist, played by Jacob Latimore, seems to have powers that go beyond typical sleight of hand. How do you stop a baseball bat coming at your head in midair? Magic!
Sleight premiered at Sundance earlier this year and is scheduled to enchant multiplexes on April 7th, 2017. Directed by JD Dillard, the film also stars Seychelle Gabriel, Dulé Hill, Sasheer Zamata, Storm Reid and Cameron Esposito.
A young street magician (Jacob Latimore) is left to care for his little sister after their parents’ passing and turns to illegal activities to keep a roof over their heads. When he gets in too deep, his sister is kidnapped and he is forced to use his magic and brilliant mind to save her.
