Variety is reporting that Woody Harrelson is the top choice, and is in early talks, to play Han Solo’s mentor in the upcoming Star Wars spinoff focusing on the young smuggler. Solo will be played by Alden Ehrenreich, and Donald Glover and Emilia Clarke have also signed on for roles.
Harrelson previously guided a burgeoning hero in The Hunger Games films and his performance was a highlight of the series. He seems like a good choice to mold a young man into a scruffy nerf herder.
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are directing the untitled Solo picture, scheduled to be released on May 25th, 2018.
