2010’s Hot Tub Time Machine was unquestionably immature, but there was also some measure of humanity behind the various humiliations. Hot Tub Time Machine 2 drops the heart and focuses below the belt with an uninspired string of dick jokes and adlibbed insults. Another thing absent this time around is the original’s most marketable performer, John Cusack, whose character only appears in a still photo and is said to be on a “spiritual journey.” The actor was likely on a journey to find a better script. He wouldn’t have to travel far.
Here we have the first trailer for Anne Fletcher‘s (27 Dresses) Hot Pursuit, and before you get all excited about a possible remake of the classic 1987 John Cusack comedy, this is actually a police comedy starring Reese Witherspoon as an officer tasked
Born out of a fake movie trailer, Justin Simien’s feature debut, Dear White People, is just the right kind of biting satire we need in our current social climate. It’s the type of film that holds a mirror up to its audience and poses a lot of questions about race but doesn’t dare propose any answers.
*EDIT:* It seems as though the trailer has been pulled. We’ll update the embed once a new one becomes available!

Suburban Gothic is the sophomore feature for writer-director Richard Bates Jr., and although the tone is decidedly different than his first film, Excision, the unique visual style is much the same. Favoring comedic antics and funny dialogue over gore, this is a lighter horror film, but still manages to be a fun and entertaining ride and yet another solid entry into Bates’ filmography.
It’s a common occurrence for a film to explore the objectification of women, usually by featuring stereotypical male protagonists whose only goal in life is to repeatedly get laid by as many nameless women as possible. In Female Pervert, writer-director Jiyoung Lee takes this trope and flips it around, focusing on a woman who objectifies the men in her life. This results in a delightfully awkward romp that, while fun, plays it a little too safe.
A new trailer has been released for director Peter Bogdanovich‘s (The Last Picture Show, Paper Moon) latest, She’s Funny That Way. This is Bogdanovich’s first narrative feature since 2001’s The Cat’s Meow, and it looks like he’s assembled quite the cast for this
